It’s harder than ever to make friends and connect with people. For the past two years, COVID has caused most people to spend more time at home and distance themselves from others.

You’ve probably heard all this before, but hear me out. Connecting online

There’s an upside to all of this; the pandemic has caused us to become more aware of our social and mental needs. I think throughout all this we’ve learned how important it is to stay connected, no matter the means. Therefore, people are making connections online more than ever before.

But….. Connecting online

Making friends online can be daunting, and dating even more so. Let’s be honest, finding a date online can feel “unnatural” or “scary”. With everything we hear about scammers and catfishing, it’s okay to have some doubts.  It’s not always easy to be yourself, and you never know if someone’s really being honest with you. But, we’ve entered into an era where it feels more natural to reach out to others online.

I’ve tried a couple of dating apps in the past year myself, something I never thought I’d do! Even though I’m still single, it felt good to put myself out there and try to connect with others. There are so many stories about people meeting online and hitting it off. Besides, just because things don’t work out as expected doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth trying. One thing is definitely true: the internet makes it easier to meet different people. Connecting online

Whether you’re looking for a soulmate or just someone to hang out with, doing so online makes everyone a bit more accessible. For example, it’s easier to grab a coffee and chat with someone on Zoom than it is to attend an actual meeting. The same goes for meeting someone who shares your values and interests. Connecting online

I know that there are many of you who are still learning how to navigate this new social landscape. I am here to remind you that you’re not alone, no one has it all figured out. You don’t have to have all the answers to get out there and make some friends, maybe more 😉 Connecting online
